STL and will feature a special introduction from SPSTL’s Kate Stewart. \n\n\n\nCITY LIGHTS\, the most cherished film by Charlie Chaplin\, is also his ultimate Little Tramp chronicle. The writer-director-star achieved new levels of grace\, in both physical comedy and dramatic poignancy\, with this silent tale of a lovable vagrant falling for a young blind woman who sells flowers on the street (a magical Virginia Cherrill) and mistakes him for a millionaire. Though this Depression-era smash was made after the advent of sound\, Chaplin remained steadfast in his love for the expressive beauty of the pre-talkie form. The result was the epitome of his art and the crowning achievement of silent comedy. \n\n\n\n“If only one of Charles Chaplin’s films could be preserved\, CITY LIGHTS would come the closest to representing all the different notes of his genius. It contains the slapstick\, the pathos\, the pantomime\, the effortless physical coordination\, the melodrama\, the bawdiness\, the grace\, and\, of course\, the Little Tramp–the character said\, at one time\, to be the most famous image on earth.” – Roger Ebert \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTheater Policies\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAll seats are first-come\, first-served.\n\n\n\nThe theater opens 30 minutes prior to showtime\, except for “Happy Hour” events and pre-shows when the theater opens at the listed start time.\n\n\n\nAll ages are welcome at Arkadin except for Drinkolas Cage events\, which are restricted to 21+. We follow the MPAA rating guidelines for all other films.\n\n\n\nTickets can be purchased using the BUY TICKETS link above. Upon ordering\, you will receive a confirmation email from Square.
