SUMMARY:LADY IN WHITE (1988) presented by Dark Dream Cinema
DESCRIPTION:BUY TICKETS\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDark Dream Cinema is a monthly film series devoted to the creeping undercurrents of the arthouse scene\, hosted by Michael Morlaine. \n\n\n\n“A beautifully tender and haunting ghost story.” – Moria Reviews \n\n\n\nWillowpoint Falls is a quiet hamlet in upstate New York\, an idyllic landscape of Norman Rockwell homesteads and stunning scenic beauty. It’s also a small town with a secret: For ten years\, a killer has preyed upon its children\, casting darkness upon the sunlit haze of its rolling hills. And when Frankie Scarlatti gets locked in the cloakroom one Halloween night\, he finds himself mired in a mystery: the tragic tale of a murdered schoolgirl and the legendary Lady in White. \n\n\n\nA heartfelt passion project from writer\, director\, producer\, and composer Frank LaLoggia\, Lady in White transforms LaLoggia’s own childhood memories into a swooning epic of family\, friendship\, love\, and loss. Based on the legend of the titular lady—a spectral figure claimed to haunt LaLoggia’s hometown of Rochester\, NY—the film blends tragedy and horror with the folksy humor of vintage Americana. Featuring gorgeous visuals\, a rapturous score\, and a standout performance by a young Lukas Haas\, Lady in White is a singular entry in the horror canon\, and a one-of-a-kind Halloween classic. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nArkadin does not generally provide advisories about subject matter or potentially triggering content in films\, as sensitivities vary from person to person. SUMMARY:CHRONOVISOR (2026) -- "Spine-tingling and uncanny"
DESCRIPTION:BUY TICKETS\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n“Getting caught up in the film’s mounting obsession feels like falling headfirst into a Wikipedia rabbit hole\, tumbling into darkness and data until dawn breaks over your bloodshot eyes. It’s a rush and an addiction… Boldly inviting its audience to weave between the lanes of lucidity and enthrallment\, this film might entice some obsessives of its own.” – The AV Club \n\n\n\nAn entrancing conspiranoid thriller told in a literate\, arthouse style\, Chronovisor is one of the most unique films of 2026. While writing a monograph on historical theories of memory\, Respected academic Béatrice (played by real-life professor Anne Laure Sellier) becomes beguiled by the allegedly true story of the Chronovisor\, an occult device said to reproduce visuals from any point in history on a TV screen. Her obsession with the mysterious machine drags her from her Upper East Side apartment through the depths of New York City’s hidden libraries\, to the edge of a breakthrough. Filmed on luminous 16mm film\, Chronovisor captures better than perhaps any film ever made the pure compulsive enthrallment of falling down the rabbit hole of “the wildest conspiracy theory you’ve never heard” (The Film Stage). \n\n\n\nWHAT THE CRITICS ARE SAYING…\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n“Wildly compelling” \n\n\n\n\nAn occult thriller turns academic obsession Into something beguiling and wildly compelling… an addicting\, compulsively watchable rabbit hole. \n\n\n\n\n\nIndieWire \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n“Strikingly original” \n\n\n\n\nAuen and Walker employ a strikingly original array of aesthetic strategies… a mystery that becomes only more absorbing and thought-provoking the deeper the film goes down the archival rabbit hole. \n\n\n\n\n\nSlant Magazine \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n“Spine-tingling and uncanny” \n\n\n\n\nA spine-tingling and uncanny film that resonates with the vastly expanding powers of networked space and artificial intelligence today\, and fears of the erosion of privacy and human autonomy… deceptive and intoxicating. \n\n\n\n\n\nThe Film Verdict \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTheater Policies\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAll seats are first-come\, first-served.\n\n\n\nThe theater opens 30 minutes prior to showtime\, except for “Happy Hour” events and pre-shows when the theater opens at the listed start time.\n\n\n\nWhen a screening is sold out\, we open a waitlist 30 minutes before showtime. SUMMARY:THIS IS BUZZ (2026) -- w/ director Mark Pellington in person + Pellington-directed music videos pre-show @ 3:30 pm
DESCRIPTION:BUY TICKETS\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n“One of the best documentaries of 2025\, a movie about the late 1980s and early 1990s that’s also — without forcing the parallels — very much a movie about today.” – IndieWire \n\n\n\nHelmed by Mark Pellington (whose credits include the legendary music video for Pearl Jam’s “Jeremy” and criminally underrated early-aughts chiller The Mothman Prophecies)\, This Is Buzz is a bold\, music-driven documentary that tells (and\, just as importantly\, illustrates) the tale of the seismically influential—yet somehow forgotten—MTV slice-of-life docuseries BUZZ\, which ran for just 13 episodes in 1990. The show took an experimental approach to uncovering often undiscussed corners of global life. With fast-paced edits giving the show an avant-garde feel\, the series would tackle specific subjects with each entry. This dream-like\, almost subliminal\, feel pre-dated the media oversaturation we feel today as we are drawn to a constant conveyor belt of content on platforms like TikTok and Instagram. And on top of it all\, RuPaul was the show’s host! \n\n\n\nCome out early for a pre-show of music videos directed by Mark Pellington beginning at 3:30 pm. An in-person Q&A with director Mark Pellington will follow the film! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTheater Policies\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAll seats are first-come\, first-served.\n\n\n\nThe theater opens 30 minutes prior to showtime\, except for “Happy Hour” events and pre-shows when the theater opens at the listed start time.\n\n\n\nWhen a screening is sold out\, we open a waitlist 30 minutes before showtime. SUMMARY:THE MOTHMAN PROPHECIES (2002) w/ director Mark Pellington in person!
DESCRIPTION:BUY TICKETS\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n“Chills me to my bones… One of the creepiest movies ever made” – Chris Stuckmann \n\n\n\nMark Pellington’s The Mothman Prophecies bravely bucked the trend of early-aughts horror. A thoughtful\, slow-burn chiller released amidst a stream of brash\, garish post-Scream silliness\, Pellington’s film evokes the eerie\, less-is-more approach of Val Lewton. Based on the allegedly classic non-fiction book by parapsychologist John A. Keel\, who investigated sightings of the eponymous creature in and around Point Pleasant\, West Virginia\, The Mothman Prophecies stars Richard Gere as a grief‑stricken reporter who chases a trail of impossible sightings of a winged figure that induces hideous nightmares and fevered visions in those it visits. Pulsing with dread\, this bold\, beautiful\, supremely creepy gem remains one of the most underappreciated horror films of its era. \n\n\n\nAn in-person Q&A with Mark Pellington follows the film! SUMMARY:Legendary "metaphysical splatter film" BEGOTTEN (1990) -- new 4K restoration w/ industrial music videos pre-show @ 6:30 pm
DESCRIPTION:BUY TICKETS\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n“The experimental ‘metaphysical splatter film’ you absolutely have to see.” – Collider \n\n\n\nA hypnotic Rorschach test that scars the psyche as much as the eye\, E. Elias Merhige’s directorial debut—memorably described as a “metaphysical splatter film” by critic J. Hoberman—stripped a century’s worth of filmmaking technique back to its primordial form. Here we have a genuine nightmare captured on degraded celluloid\, in which disfigured creatures flail in agony amid a barren landscape. Setting a forbidding new standard in avant-garde\, Begotten drew a line in the sand that has yet to be crossed. Be forwarned: This film is disturbing in a way few films can match. Picture Eraserhead on a Skinamarink budget\, as fed through a broken photocopier and burned to a crisp. Then take that\, drag it through the mud\, bury it in sand\, and screen it at night on the side of a barn while fluorsecents flicker overhead. Preferably during a cult initation. It’s the soul-searing experience you never knew you needed. (Michael Morlaine) \n\n\n\nThe film will be preceded by a pre-show of industrial music videos\, including a few directed by BEGOTTEN helmer E. Elias Merhige! \n\n\n\n\nBegotten has no characters in the ordinary sense. Its final credits name three principal figures: \n\n\n\nGod Killing Himself.Mother Earth.Son of Earth — Flesh on Bone \n\n\n\nThe entire film is what those names do to each other and to the earth. \n\n\n\nGod Killing Himself tears open his body and dies. Mother Earth rises from what remains and takes his seed into herself. She gives birth to Son of Earth — Flesh on Bone. He is cast into a barren world\, seized by the Nomads\, tortured\, killed\, and briefly returned to life by his mother. The Nomads destroy her too. The Robed Figures gather what remains of mother and son\, grind their bodies down\, and return them to the soil. The ground flowers. \n\n\n\nBegotten was shot in black and white on 16mm reversal film\, then rephotographed frame by frame through neutral-density filters. The process took four years and roughly ten hours of work for every finished minute. The image was worked by hand through repeated exposure and filtration until the grain itself began to move like an atmospheric condition\, thickening the dark and tearing open the light. \n\n\n\nWhen the film first began circulating\, no one agreed on where it belonged. Drama.Horror. Foreign. In one San Francisco video store\, briefly\, pornography. Susan Sontag encountered the film through the festival circuit\, became one of its earliest and most important advocates\, and began showing it to people in her living room. \n\n\n\nFor more than thirty-five years\, Begotten circulated in versions that carried its force but not its complete photographic body. Now\, for the first time\, the sketch has become the painting. Nothing has been cleaned up or modernized. The image has simply arrived at the form it was always meant to possess: blacks with weight\, whites with force\, and grain breathing as atmosphere. \n\n\n\nNobody has settled on what to call Begotten since it first appeared. \n\n\n\nThat was never the problem. \n\n\n\nIt is the reason to see it now. \n\n\n\n-E. SUMMARY:BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER (1992) -- fundraiser for Missouri Abortion Fund!
DESCRIPTION:BUY TICKETS\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n“Delightfully camp!” – The Guardian \n\n\n\nBefore Sarah Michelle Gellar took up the wooden stake in the iconic WB series\, Kristy Swanson donned a cheerleader’s uniform and kicked some bloodsucker butt in the cult-classic comedy that started it all! Swanson stars as blonde\, bouncy Buffy Summers\, a typical high school girl whose goal in life is to “marry Christian Slater and die.” But all that changes when a strange man (Donald Sutherland) informs her she’s been chosen by fate to kill vampires. With the help of a romantic rebel (Luke Perry)\, Buffy is soon spending school nights protecting L.A. from Lothos\, the Vampire King (Rutger Hauer)\, his sidekick Lefty (Paul Ruebens) and their determined gang of the undead. Though writer Joss Whedon felt the film trivialized his vision\, the OG Buffy the Vampire Slayer remains a bright\, breezy\, oh-so-fun romp into the Hellmouth. So how loose is your goose?
SUMMARY:THE CRIMSON GHOST a.k.a. CYCLOTRODE 'X' (1966) w/ Misfits music videos pre-show presented by Strange Brew
DESCRIPTION:BUY TICKETS\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis film is presented by St. Louis’s long-running cult film series Strange Brew — winner of the 2025 A-List Award for Best Movie Night in St. Louis. Strange Brew programmer Jon Scorfina will provide an introduction. \n\n\n\nThe Crimson Ghost is a twelve-chapter film serial from 1946 produced by Republic Pictures. It follows a criminologist named Duncan Richards (Charles Quigley) as he tries to thwart the dastardly plans of a hooded villain wearing a skull mask known as The Crimson Ghost. The eponymous villain is trying to steal the Cyclotrode X\, a device that can disable all electronics\, which the miscreant hopes to obtain to wreak havoc throughout the world. Cyclotrode ‘X’ is a re-edit of the twelve chapters shortened and combined into a 100-minute television film released in 1966.  \n\n\n\nThe Crimson Ghost aka Cyclotrode ‘X’ is a campy blast\, featuring countless double crosses\, sucker punches\, mind control collars and multiple people jumping from exploding vehicles\, all in an effort to foil the cloaked evildoer from obtaining the atomic device. The film is best remembered now as the inspiration behind the mascot image for horror punk band The Misfits\, with the skull visage seen on dozens of Misfits’ albums\, singles and t-shirts\, cementing the villain’s place as a pop-culture icon. A Misfits Music Video Preshow will start at 6:30 pm. SUMMARY:67 BOMBS TO ENID (2026) + in-person Q&A with co-director Kevin Ford
DESCRIPTION:BUY TICKETS\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n“Deeply moving…a benchmark for documentaries focusing on the people impacted by injustice and celebrating their heritage” – Dan Ingram\, News9 \n\n\n\nBetween 1946 and 1958\, the United States of America conducted 67 known nuclear weapons tests in the Marshall Islands\, on Bikini and Enewetak Atolls. Decades later\, thousands of Marshallese survivors and their descendants now live in the United States and one such community has settled on the plains of Enid\, Oklahoma. 67 BOMBS TO ENID is an intimate\, character-driven documentary that weaves first-hand accounts of the detonations with the testimony of the generation born after — tracing displacement\, generational trauma\, and a community’s insistence on joy and cultural pride in the unlikeliest of American towns. It speaks to the need for durable solutions to the harms caused by the nuclear legacy\, as well as the Marshallese peoples continued pursuit of nuclear justice. Executive Produced by Errol Morris. \n\n\n\nCo-director Kevin Ford will join us after the film for an in-person Q&A! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nArkadin does not generally provide advisories about subject matter or potentially triggering content in films\, as sensitivities vary from person to person.
