SUMMARY:Palestinian comedy classic THE TIME THAT REMAINS (2009) -- fundraiser for the AlHaddad family in Gaza!
DESCRIPTION:BUY TICKETS\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSupport a family in Gaza and enjoy one of the all-time classics of Palestinian cinema! Wear your Pali colors and come to honor the people of Palestine and our beloved AlHaddads.  \n\n\n\n“Sharp as a knife … as close to flawless as a film can be” – Ali Abunimah\, The Electronic Intifada \n\n\n\nJoin us for a special screening of The Time That Remains\, directed by Palestinian filmmaker Elia Suleiman. The film is a semi-biographical film that follows Palestinian life from 1948 to the present day through the story of director Elia Suleiman’s family. The plot is divided into four episodes that depict the filmmaker’s father\, Fouad Suleiman\, as a resistance fighter in 1948\, the struggles of his family under Israeli military rule in the 1960s\, and finally\, Elia’s own experiences as an adolescent and adult. The film uses a comedic and surreal style to portray the daily life\, absurdities\, and humiliations of Palestinians living as a minority in their own homeland. \n\n\n\nAll proceeds from this screening will benefit the AlHaddad family in Gaza. Sameh\, Amani\, and Elien live in the north of Gaza and are struggling to survive. They have lost two infant sons (Mohammed and Wissam) and Sameh’s brother Mahmood was killed in a bombing last October. They are surviving a genocide. Between the constant presence of drones\, bombs\, shells\, gunfire\, and destruction\, there are also rats\, lack of clean water\, limited food\, disease\, extreme heat\, mosquitoes\, and near total destruction of the infrastructure and buildings.  \n\n\n\nExpenses are extremely high\, since borders are closed and Gaza is under a brutal siege. The AlHaddad family needs us to step up and help them. Wear your Pali colors and come to honor the people of Palestine and our beloved AlHaddads. \n\n\n\nThis screening is not available to book with the Club Arkadin pass. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nArkadin does not generally provide advisories about subject matter or potentially triggering content in films\, as sensitivities vary from person to person. However\, we encourage researching titles to determine if a screening may contain content that could be upsetting to you. Please feel free to contact us for guidance on specific films. Information about content can also be found on Common Sense Media\, IMDB and DoesTheDogDie.com\, as well as through general internet searches. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTheater Policies\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAll seats are first-come\, first-served.\n\n\n\nThe theater opens 30 minutes prior to showtime\, except for “Happy Hour” events and pre-shows when the theater opens at the listed start time.\n\n\n\nWhen a screening is sold out\, we open a waitlist 30 minutes before showtime. You must physically come to the lobby to get your name on the waitlist. Seats are released as they become available. All remaining seats are released at showtime.\n\n\n\nAll ages are welcome at Arkadin except for Drinkolas Cage events\, which are restricted to 21+. We follow the MPAA rating guidelines for all other films.\n\n\n\nTickets can be purchased using the BUY TICKETS link above. Upon ordering\, you will receive a confirmation email from Square. Tickets may also be purchased on the day of the show at the concession counter.\n\n\n\nIf you’ve purchased advance tickets\, when you arrive\, please give your name at the concession counter to check in. \n\n\n\nTickets are returnable by sending a request through the contact form located on our About Us page prior to showtime.\n\n\n\nWhen an event is sold out\, we reserve the right to release open seats to customers on the waitlist. If you have a pre-purchased ticket and arrive late and there is no seat for you\, your ticket will be refunded.\n\n\n\nAll screenings are held in our indoor theater unless indicated otherwise in the event description above.\n\n\n\nPlease respect your fellow movie-goers by remaining quiet and refraining from using your cell phone throughout the screening.

SUMMARY:EARTH'S GREATEST ENEMY (2025) + virtual Q&A with director Abby Martin
DESCRIPTION:BUY TICKETS\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n“Captures the unfathomable breadth of ecological and human suffering caused by militarism. It covers the cost of war to the oceans\, animal and plant life\, fresh water\, and more. If someone lives in the belly of this military beast\, Earth’s Greatest Enemy should be a required watch.” – Common Dreams \n\n\n\nEarth’s Greatest Enemy\, the second feature film project by Abby Martin\, is a groundbreaking anti-imperialist environmental documentary. Exempt from international climate agreements and rarely scrutinized in mainstream reporting\, the Pentagon is the world’s single largest institutional polluter—spewing carbon\, contaminating water\, and scarring landscapes across the globe. Combining investigative journalism\, striking visuals\, and stories from impacted communities\, this film challenges audiences to rethink the hidden costs of a global military empire and its planetary consequences. Provocative\, urgent\, and eye-opening\, this is a documentary that will change how you see both the military and environmentalism. \n\n\n\nA virtual Q&A with Abby Martin will follow the screening! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nArkadin does not generally provide advisories about subject matter or potentially triggering content in films\, as sensitivities vary from person to person. DESCRIPTION:BUY TICKETS\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOn the last Monday of every month\, Arkadin chooses an underseen deep cut to inflict upon an unwitting audience. Blood! \n\n\n\nThis project was nearly 2 years in the making (more if you count writing/recording the music)\, with direction of all the videos being handled by guitarist\, Todd Parker. Todd learned the basics of filmmaking on a string of no-budget movies in the mid-2000s\, holding a little bit of every title\, from editor to make-up artist. These days he makes movies for fun\, on his own terms. \n\n\n\nLIMITED EDITION VHS WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR THE FIRST TIME AT THIS SCREENING. ANY REMAINING STOCK WILL BE MADE AVAILABLE AFTERWARDS \n\n\n\nMORE PRAISE FOR GLOBAL URINATION (the music album): \n\n\n\n\n“Crunchy\, thrashy metal that carries the aroma of DRI\, SOD\, MOD…” – Punk Dumpster Zine\n\n\n\n“…the whole world’s going up in flames\, let’s get fucked up and listen to Sewer Urchin.” – Nuke the Whales Punk Zine
