SUMMARY:HIGHLANDER (1986) w/ Queen pre-show presented by Strange Brew
DESCRIPTION:BUY TICKETS\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis film is presented by St. Louis’s long-running cult film series Strange Brew — winner of the 2025 A-List Award for Best Movie Night in St. Louis. Strange Brew programmer Jon Scorfina will provide an introduction. \n\n\n\nA forensic scientist named Brenda (Roxanne Hart) investigates a string of mysterious beheadings in New York City and believes a reclusive antique dealer with the alias Russell Nash (Christopher Lambert) might be the prime suspect in the cult fantasy HIGHLANDER. As she gets closer to Russell\, he reveals the unbelievable story that he is truly Connor MacLeod\, an immortal born in the Scottish Highlands in the 16th century who is in a multi-century battle with other immortals who must be beheaded until only one remains. Sean Connery plays Ramirez\, Connor’s mentor and fellow immortal friend\, and Clancy Brown plays The Kurgan\, a 16th-century sadistic barbarian turned modern NYC street punk\, who has challenged Connor for the ultimate prize: to be the final immortal! \n\n\n\nDirector Russell Mulcahy\, a popular music video director\, cast lead actor Christopher Lambert after finding his picture in a magazine — not knowing the actor did not speak English and would have to learn the language during the brief period between landing the role and filming began. The film features a beautiful orchestral score by composer Michael Kamen\, as well as multiple original songs by rock megastars Queen including “Princes of the Universe” and “Who Wants to Live Forever.”  \n\n\n\nHIGHLANDER was an initial critical and box-office bomb during its theatrical release in 1986\, but found international success through its home video release and has since gone on to develop a devoted cult following. The original film spawned three live-action sequels\, an anime movie\, multiple television spin-offs\, and a remake currently in the works starring Henry Cavill\, but fans know\, “There Can Be Only One!” \n\n\n\nCome out early to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Highlander with a special Queen music video preshow starting at 6:30 pm. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nArkadin does not generally provide advisories about subject matter or potentially triggering content in films\, as sensitivities vary from person to person. However\, we encourage researching titles to determine if a screening may contain content that could be upsetting to you. Please feel free to contact us for guidance on specific films. Information about content can also be found on Common Sense Media\, IMDB and DoesTheDogDie.com\, as well as through general internet searches. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTheater Policies\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAll seats are first-come\, first-served.\n\n\n\nThe theater opens 30 minutes prior to showtime\, except for “Happy Hour” events and pre-shows when the theater opens at the listed start time.\n\n\n\nAll ages are welcome at Arkadin except for Drinkolas Cage events\, which are restricted to 21+. SUMMARY:PINK FLOYD: THE WALL (1982) presented by Dark Dream Cinema
DESCRIPTION:BUY TICKETS\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDark Dream Cinema is a monthly film series devoted to the creeping undercurrents of the arthouse scene\, hosted by Michael Morlaine. \n\n\n\n“Visually stunning\, sonically appealing\, and disturbingly still relevant.” Michael Cavendar \n\n\n\nPink (Bob Geldof) is a superstar with some serious baggage: Haunted by the father he lost in World War II\, hounded by the press and the fans and the industry itself\, and worn down by a growing sense of malaise and disconnect\, he builds an internal barrier between himself and everyone else. Eventually going catatonic\, Pink lapses into a fantasy world of nightmarish images and delusions of grandeur—but faced with his own annihilation\, he’ll need every last ounce of resolve in order to break through the wall. \n\n\n\nDetailing the mental decay of a rock god who fancies himself a despotic ruler\, The Wall redefined the rock opera and pushed the limits of dark\, surrealistic cinema. Scored with music from Pink Floyd’s immortal concept record\, and interspersed with animated sequences by Gerald Scarfe\, The Wall doubles as both a rousing cinematic experience and a cautionary tale of how easily one can exploit the public’s thirst for celebrity and bigotry as the grounding for outright fascism. In an age in which reality TV stars hijack the White House and jackbooted thugs wage war on American streets\, there’s never been a more urgent time for Pink Floyd’s call to arms than now. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nArkadin does not generally provide advisories about subject matter or potentially triggering content in films\, as sensitivities vary from person to person. SUMMARY:Indie Horror Cult Classic MAY (2002)
DESCRIPTION:BUY TICKETS\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n“★★★★ – May is a horror film and something more and deeper\, something disturbing and oddly moving… [I]t functions as a black comedy\, but then it glides past the comedy and slides slowly down into a portrait of madness and sadness. The title performance by Angela Bettis is crucial to the film’s success. She plays a twisted character who might easily go over the top into parody\, and makes her believable\, sympathetic and terrifying.” – Roger Ebert \n\n\n\nOne of the defining indie horror films of the 21st century\, Lucky McKee’s MAY begins as the darkly funny portrait of a socially awkward veterinary assistant with a lazy eye whose only real friend is a creepy doll before gradually transforming into a twisted\, terrifying\, and profoundly affecting riff on Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein. Played with haunting pathos and neurotic charm by Angela Bettis\, May is an eccentric bisexual icon\, bouncing between hunky Adam (Jeremy Sisto)—whose perfect hands May becomes obsessed with—sexy co-worker Polly (Anna Faris) and a nameless dirtbag punk (James Duval). But May’s relationships eventually descend into depravity as she learns that people are not 100% perfect—only certain parts of them are. A difficult-to-market but easy-to-love combination of romance\, comedy\, and slasher thrills\, MAY wasn’t a hit upon its initial theatrical release\, but it’s become a true cult classic in the intervening quarter century\, the kind of film you find yourself feverishly recommending to friends just as soon as it’s hooked its bloody claws into you. \n\n\n\nThis film will be preceded by a pre-show featuring female-centered horror shorts\, beginning at 6:30 pm. \n\n\n\nWhy should Jessie Buckley have all the fun? We’re celebrating brides\, monsters\, mad doctors and more this month with our FEMALE FRANKENSTEINS series\, featuring thrills\, chills\, dark laughs and twisted loves\, all culminating with our screenings of the widely-acclaimed new horror-comedy DEAD LOVER! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nArkadin does not generally provide advisories about subject matter or potentially triggering content in films\, as sensitivities vary from person to person. SUMMARY:Bad-Movie Classic MAC AND ME (1988) -- Friday Night WTF!
DESCRIPTION:BUY TICKETS\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFriday Night WTF screenings are cheap\, weird\, and out of control! Cult trashterpieces\, so-bad-they’re-good crapfests\, movies that make you ask “What the hell am I watching?!” — we’ve got ’em all on Friday night. \n\n\n\n“One of the best bad movies of all time! An accidentally riotous failure.” – Complex \n\n\n\nOne of the most baffling\, beloved\, and jaw-droppingly weird sci-fi films of the 1980s\, MAC AND ME has gained legions of fans across the universe thanks to its bad acting\, worse dialogue\, uncannily strange creature design\, and outrageously rampant product placement\, including the film’s most infamous scene: a hip-hop dance party set inside a McDonald’s! From writer-director Stewart Raffill\, the man behind fellow WTF classic Tammy & the T-Rex\, MAC AND ME tells the heartwarming story of M.A.C. (short for Mysterious Alien Creature)\, an ostensibly lovable little alien who in no way resembles E.T. MAC gets separated from his family and takes refuge in the home of a wheelchair-bound middle schooler named Eric (Jonathan Ward). While Mac adjusts quickly to life on Earth\, soon gaining a love for popular soft drink brands and fast food restaurants\, he remains desperate to reunite with his family before the gun-toting thugs of the federal government catch up with him. Nominated for four Razzies and cemented in the collective consciousness of multiple generations thanks to its inclusion in the MST3K reboot and Paul Rudd’s long-running prank on Conan O’Brien\, MAC AND ME is essential viewing for fans of the ludicrous and inept. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nArkadin does not generally provide advisories about subject matter or potentially triggering content in films\, as sensitivities vary from person to person. SUMMARY:THE RULES OF ATTRACTION (2002) w/ Dawson's Creek pilot pre-show
DESCRIPTION:BUY TICKETS\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n“Somewhere between a black romantic comedy and a psychosexual horror show\, it’s a film so delightfully bratty that it could be easy to miss what lies beneath… The Rules of Attraction brims with doomed yearning.” – The Guardian \n\n\n\nRIP James Van Der Beek. While he embodied the sensitive hunk archetype on beloved teen soap opera Dawson’s Creek and in the football drama Varsity Blues\, Van Der Beek went fully against type in Roger Avary’s deliriously stylish adaptation of Bret Easton Ellis’ nihilistic cult novel THE RULES OF ATTRACTION. Forget everything you thought you knew about Dawson Leery and higher education. Making his directorial debut\, Avary\, the Oscar-winning co-writer of Pulp Fiction\, takes you back to school and drops you in the middle of the drugged-out\, sexed-up lives of (fictional) Camden College’s most disaffected students. Van Der Beek plays Sean Bateman\, a womanizing drug dealer whose quest for some kind of connection brings him face-to-face with Lauren (Shannyn Sossamon)\, a shy girl looking for love but saving herself for the much sought after Victor (Kip Pardue) while Paul Denton (Ian Somerhalder) wants to make a connection of his own…with Sean. With a kitted-out visual style that employs split screens\, in-your-face montage\, and too-cool-for-school needle drops\, THE RULES OF ATTRACTION is fast-paced and funny even when its characters’ lives are spinning out of control. Roger Avary and Bret Easton Ellis may not have exactly covered themselves in glory over the past couple decades\, but this darkly funny satire of life\, love and the pursuit of debauchery remains a compellingly fatalistic plunge into the deep end of depravity as well as an impeccable time capsule of early-’00s fads and fashions. \n\n\n\nTo fully celebrate Van Der Beek (as well as his millennial-icon co-stars Katie Holmes\, Joshua Jackson\, and Michelle Williams)\, we’ll be presenting the full pilot episode of Dawson’s Creek before the film\, starting at 6:15 pm. Doors open at 6 pm. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nArkadin does not generally provide advisories about subject matter or potentially triggering content in films\, as sensitivities vary from person to person. SUMMARY:THE RED SPECTACLES (1987) -- New 4K Restoration w/ dystopian shorts pre-show
DESCRIPTION:BUY TICKETS\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n“A noir nightmare that’s halfway between detective story and farce\, live-action and human cartoon\, serious and scatological\, and Seijun Suzuki and Jean-Luc Godard.” – Screen Slate \n\n\n\nBefore creating mind-bending anime classics Ghost in the Shell\, Angel’s Egg\, and Patlabor\, visionary filmmaker Mamoru Oshii made this philosophical live-action blend of film noir\, political allegory\, and existential mystery. THE RED SPECTACLES is a visually striking black comedy that meditates on justice\, memory\, and the cost of loyalty that also inspired Oshii’s own Stray Dog: Kerberos Panzer Cops and its legendary animated prequel Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade. \n\n\n\nIn a dystopian near-future Japan\, law and order is enforced by a brutal paramilitary police unit known as the Kerberos Panzer Cops\, aka ‘Watchdogs of Hell’\, equipped with heavy weaponry and reinforced body armor called “Protect Gear.” However\, when their extreme methods spark public outcry\, the government moves to dismantle the unit. Disobeying orders to disband\, a trio of officers stage a rebellion—but only one\, Koichi Todome Shigeru Chiba)\, escapes. Three years later\, Koichi returns to Tokyo after living in exile\, carrying a mysterious suitcase. He seeks to reunite with his former comrades and uncover the truth behind the crackdown\, but he soon finds himself in a surreal and dreamlike city—a shadow of its former self\, filled with strange characters\, elusive memories\, and Kafkaesque absurdity. As reality begins to unravel\, Koichi descends deeper into paranoia\, unable to tell friend from foe\, truth from illusion. \n\n\n\nThe film will be preceded by a pre-show of dystopian short films at 6:30 pm. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nArkadin does not generally provide advisories about subject matter or potentially triggering content in films\, as sensitivities vary from person to person. SUMMARY:YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN (1974) w/ Mel Brooks pre-show
DESCRIPTION:BUY TICKETS\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n“The best Mel Brooks film with the finest Gene Wilder performance is this near-flawless horror spoof that’s shot in velvety monochrome.” – Times (UK) \n\n\n\nRightfully regarded as one of the greatest comedies ever made\, YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN never gets old. Mel Brooks’ pitch-perfect satire of (and loving homage to) the Universal monster movies of the 1930s stars the maniacally brilliant Gene Wilder as Dr. Frederick Frankenstein (pronounced “Fronkensteen\,” of course)\, a scientist determined to live down his family’s lurid reputation for creating evil creatures until he finds himself in the old family castle where he can’t help but take up the family business. With the help of Teri Garr as the voluptuous Inga\, Marty Feldman as the bug-eyed assistant Igor\, and an abnormal brain\, Frankenstein ultimately brings to life a monster played with madcap mastery by Peter Boyle. But can the Monster be tamed? Or will he turn Frankenstein’s sex-starved socialite fiancee (the hilarious Madeline Kahn) into his bride? As Mel Brooks celebrates a century on the Earth this year\, let’s pay a fond return to perhaps his finest hour. \n\n\n\nPlus\, we’ll have more Mel before the film! Come out early for a Mel Brooks pre-show starting at 6 pm! SUMMARY:FRANKENHOOKER (1990) -- Friday Night WTF!
\n\n\n\n“If you only see one movie this year\, it should be Frankenhooker” – Bill Murray \n\n\n\nAfter making horror history with Basket Case and Brain Damage\, the incomparable Frank Henenlotter unleashed FRANKENHOOKER—the goriest\, goofiest\, all-time greatest bastardization of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein you’ll ever see. After accidentally murdering the love of his life\, Jeffrey Franken decides to reanimate her with the help of a drug named Supercrack…and the body parts of a dozen streetwalkers. Like a twisted mash-up of John Waters’s Serial Mom and Stuart Gordon’s Re-Animator\, FRANKENHOOKER is a bad-taste triumph that revels in sublime camp\, gloopy gore\, and neon-soaked dreamscapes. Plus a perfectly pitched comedic turn by Penthouse Pet Patty Mullen as the title character. It’s everything a late-night WTF movie should be! \n\n\n\nWhy should Jessie Buckley have all the fun? SUMMARY:WORLD WIDE MAGAZINE: 40th Anniversary screening of the 1st episode (Every Day I Use Up A Year’s Worth Of Luck) -- 314 Day!
DESCRIPTION:BUY TICKETS\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIn celebration of 314 Day in St. Louis\, Jim Varagona of The Pete Parisi Archives will introduce this screening of the very first episode of WORLD WIDE MAGAZINE! \n\n\n\n2026 marks 40 years since WWM debuted on public access television in St. Louis. While the show became known for its cast of characters\, the early episodes were centered on Pete\, the people that he’d meet\, and the goofy things he’d do. When he first submitted some “movies” that he’d made to STL Cable\, there was no WORLD WIDE MAGAZINE. Episode 1 is entitled Every Day I Use Up A Year’s Worth Of Luck. You’ll see Pete\, the cabbie\, taking his cab around town and interacting with riders. You will see his girlfriend Denise\, who helps him deliver some jokes. The fun of this episode\, aside from Pete’s playful personality early on\, is in seeing the characters that he interacts with\, not knowing they’d end up on TV\, and the places that he goes to that are no more\, like Famous Barr\, the Coral Court Motel\, National supermarket\, and Kroger (yes\, it used to be in St. Louis!). \n\n\n\nWorld Wide Magazine was a public access television program that ran in St. Louis from 1986-2001. Its creator was Peter Parisi who had a previous life in St. Louis radio before the show. The show is a variety of man-on-the-street segments\, goofy skits\, and a collective of colorful characters that gathered around Pete as the years went by. It is weird\, funny\, edgy\, and offensive\, but undoubtedly unforgettable. Since Parisi passed in 2002\, it has gained an additional following from its growing archives on YouTube. \n\n\n\nWe hope to have several members of the cast in attendance for some Q & A.  \n\n\n\nAll ticket sales go support the further digitization of shows from the archive. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTheater Policies\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAll seats are first-come\, first-served.\n\n\n\nThe theater opens 30 minutes prior to showtime\, except for “Happy Hour” events and pre-shows when the theater opens at the listed start time.\n\n\n\nAll ages are welcome at Arkadin except for Drinkolas Cage events\, which are restricted to 21+. SUMMARY:Irish Folk Horror FRÉWAKA (2024) -- 𝔉𝔬𝔩𝔨 ℌ𝔬𝔯𝔯𝔬𝔯 𝔄𝔯𝔬𝔲𝔫𝔡 𝔗𝔥𝔢 𝔚𝔬𝔯𝔩𝔡
DESCRIPTION:BUY TICKETS\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n“It’s the mythical and political Irish context of “Fréwaka” that makes it stick\, as it draws on lingering national guilt over the iniquities of the Magdalene laundries\, and twists deep-seated folk imagery into uncanny nightmare fuel.” – Variety \n\n\n\nGet ready for St. Patty’s Day with this terrifying slice of folk horror madness imported straight from the Emerald Isle. Written and director by Aislinn Clarke\, FRÉWAKA incorporates Celtic folklore\, generational trauma and the malfeasance of the Catholic Church into an atmospheric haunted-house tale infused with occult horror and told primarily in the Irish language. The film follows home care worker Shoo (Clare Monnelly)\, who\, haunted by a personal tragedy\, leaves her pregnant girlfriend to care for Peig (Bríd Ní Neachtain)\, a cantankerous old woman who has incarcerated herself in a big house on the edge of a remote village. Peig fears the neighbors as much as she fears na sídhe—sinister entities whom she believes abducted her on her wedding night decades earlier. As the two develop a deep connection\, Shoo is infected by the old woman’s paranoia\, rituals\, and superstitions\, eventually confronting the horrors of her own past. With echoes of the insular traditionalism of Midsommar and the devilish goat figure of The Witch\, Clarke’s haunting folk is deftly woven through with contemporary concerns about mental health\, inherited trauma\, and the fraught realm of motherhood. \n\n\n\nIn Irish and English\, with English subtitles. \n\n\n\nThis film is screening in Arkadin’s April 2026 Sunday Series on WOMEN DIRECTORS\, featuring a selection of unusual\, rarely screened works from female filmmakers. \n\n\n\nEach month\, Arkadin presents a selection of FOLK HORROR AROUND THE WORLD\, creepy folktales from all corner of the globe to give you the Sunday scaries. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nArkadin does not generally provide advisories about subject matter or potentially triggering content in films\, as sensitivities vary from person to person. SUMMARY:Celebrate St. Patrick's Day with LEPRECHAUN IN THE HOOD (2000)
DESCRIPTION:BUY TICKETS\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n“[T]he Gaelic gargoyle becomes a blunt-smoking\, boot-knocking playa with a couple of grudges to settle… Bloody\, broad\, and comically brutal\, it’s blaxploitation at its best.” – Entertainment Weekly \n\n\n\nIf it’s St. Patrick’s Day\, that means it’s Leprechaun Day at Arkadin! We continue our annual tradition of screening each increasing absurd entry in the silliest slasher series of them all with the most outrageous entry yet—LEPRECHAUN IN THE HOOD. Our favorite tiny Irish terror has been to Vegas\, he’s gone to space\, but you’ve never seen him like this: rampaging through South Central\, making his mark on the hip hop game after a trio of aspiring rappers accidentally steal his magic flute. Warwick Davis chews all the scenery in sight once more as the rhyme-spitting diminutive demon\, and Ice-T co-stars as music mogul Mack Daddy O’Nassas. It’s all as absurd\, bloody\, and unhinged as you’d hope for\, a priceless direct-to-video treasure from a bygone era of gleeful bad taste. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nArkadin does not generally provide advisories about subject matter or potentially triggering content in films\, as sensitivities vary from person to person. SUMMARY:EX MACHINA (2014) w/ robot tales pre-show
DESCRIPTION:BUY TICKETS\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n“Plays like Frankenstein meets Blade Runner via Hitchcock…highly literate and steeped in tense cat-and-mouse chills.” – Total Film \n\n\n\nA stylish and cerebral thriller\, EX MACHINA remains one of the most singular and prescient sci-fi films of the 21st century. Written and directed by Alex Garland (Civil War\, Men)\, the film stars Domhnall Gleeson as Caleb\, a programmer an a major tech company who wins a competition to spend a week at the mountain estate of the company’s brilliant and reclusive CEO\, Nathan Bateman (Oscar Isaac\, absolutely relishing his chance to play a villain)\, only to find there are ulterior motives. Namely\, Caleb must administer a Turing Test to Nathan’s female humanoid robot (played with uncanny iciness by Alicia Vikander). Tense\, claustrophobic\, and full of shocking twists\, EX MACHINA taps into our collective fears around AI\, while also exploring themes of gender\, class\, and power—all while remaining darkly funny\, visually stunning (the film won a well-deserved Oscar for Best Visual Effects) and absolutely gripping. EX MACHINA updates the Frankenstein mythos for the near future\, in the process revealing how timely Mary Shelley’s novel remains. \n\n\n\nBefore the film\, we’ll have a pre-show full of short films about robots\, starting at 6:30 pm. SUMMARY:THE BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN (1935)
DESCRIPTION:BUY TICKETS\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n“The greatest\, wittiest and most eccentric of all classic horror films” – Orlando Sentinel \n\n\n\nOne of the rare sequels that’s the better than the original and true work of art that stands entirely on its own\, THE BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN remains one of the most beloved horror films of all time. James Whale steps behind the camera once again\, and Boris Karloff lurches before it as the silver screen’s most misunderstood monster. The film picks up where Frankenstein left off\, with the Monster alive and yearning for connection. Whale embraces the expressionist style and emotional weirdness of the story\, while injecting a deliciously camp sense of humor all his own. Dr. Frankenstein is coerced into making a mate\, played in a brief but iconic appearance by Elsa Lanchester\, who also portrays Mary Shelley. The result is a gothic fable about loneliness\, creation\, and the terror of being misunderstood\, elevated by Karloff’s soulful performance\, Lanchester’s electric presence\, and Whale’s sharp\, eccentric direction. SUMMARY:BRIDE OF CHUCKY (1998) -- Friday Night WTF!
\n\n\n\n“Sick and wrong in all the right ways!” – Austin Chronicle \n\n\n\nChucky gets lucky! The film that revitalized the Child’s Play franchise by ditching any pretense of serious horror and diving deep into gleeful blood-splattered camp. Chucky (Brad Dourif) gets resurrected by his deranged ex\, Tiffany (Jennifer Tilly\, in an iconic performance)\, only for the two of them to end up trapped in doll bodies\, bickering like a homicidal screwball couple. What follows is a road‑trip slasher laced with black comedy\, meta winks\, and Tilly stealing every scene with wicked charm. Directed by Hong Kong action legend Ronny Yu and featuring a pre-Grey’s Anatomy Katherine Heigl\, BRIDE OF CHUCKY is trashy\, silly\, and utterly delightful. If you’ve never seen Chucky rock out to some White Zombie\, you haven’t lived. \n\n\n\nWhy should Jessie Buckley have all the fun? SUMMARY:Weird\, wild erotic thriller ANYTHING THAT MOVES (2025) + live Q&A w/ director Alex Phillips
DESCRIPTION:BUY TICKETS\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n“Weird…very funny…sex positive…John Waters would be proud.” – In Review Online \n\n\n\nAn avant-gutter psychedelic dream from STL-raised filmmaker Alex Phillips\, the madman behind All Jacked Up and Full of Worms\, ANYTHING THAT MOVES is an erotically charged\, blood-soaked thriller set in the sticky corridors of Chicago. Shot on fleshy Super 16mm\, director Alex Phillips’ rust belt giallo continues on his trajectory of taboo-shattering horror cinema with this tense\, funny\, and absolutely twisted murder mystery. The film follows nubile sex worker Liam who bikes with his girlfriend—his partner in both business and pleasure—through the city delivering snacks and divine satisfaction to his love-hungry clients. Meanwhile\, a serial killer’s gory murders are piling up and all the evidence seems to point back to the lover’s bed… Produced in collaboration with cult home video outfit Vinegar Syndrome\, the film features stand-out supporting performances from erotic film legends Ginger Lynn and Nina Hartley. With an original instrumental score by Chicago-based artists Cue Shop calling to mind the lush orchestrations of Bruno Nicolai and lurid visuals by acclaimed cinematographer Hunter Zimny\, ANYTHING THAT MOVES provides an immersive throwback to 70s exploitation flicks. \n\n\n\nPLUS after the film we’ll have an in-person Q&A with St. Louis-raised director Alex Phillips! \n\n\n\n“One of the sexiest movies of 2025! And now for something completely insane… It’s never boring and occasionally beautiful\, like during one of those incestuous three-ways that takes place at a club under an endlessly changing array of rainbow lights.” – Esquire \n\n\n\n“Chaotic\, raunchy\, and weirdly sweet for its bursts of violence. Sure\, there’s a serial killer on the loose\, but there’s also a purity of heart in Liam’s embrace of sexual freedom\, and the solidarity of those who join him on their kink-friendly journeys.” – RogerEbert.com \n\n\n\n“★★★★½ Alex Phillips’ follow-up to the unforgettable All Jacked Up And Full Of Worms is a love letter to [vintage pornography] as much as it is a spoof.” – Eye on Film \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nArkadin does not generally provide advisories about subject matter or potentially triggering content in films\, as sensitivities vary from person to person. SUMMARY:Agnès Varda's ONE SINGS\, THE OTHER DOESN'T (1977) presented by Girlhood
DESCRIPTION:BUY TICKETS\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGirlhood is a semi-regular series hosted by Arkadin co-owner Sarah Baraba that spotlights stories of sisterhood on the silver screen. \n\n\n\n“The film\, a sort-of musical about the decade-spanning friendship between two women… [is] a gift of hope for future generations of women.” – Reverse Shot \n\n\n\nIn the early 1960s in Paris\, two young women become friends. Pomme is an aspiring singer. Suzanne is a pregnant country girl unable to support a third child. Pomme lends Suzanne the money for an illegal abortion\, but a sudden tragedy soon separates them. Ten years later\, they reunite at a demonstration and pledge to keep in touch via postcard\, as each of their lives is irrevocably changed by the women’s liberation movement. A buoyant hymn to sisterly solidarity rooted in the hard-won victories of a generation of women\, One Sings\, the Other Doesn’t is one of Agnès Varda’s warmest and most politically trenchant films\, a feminist musical for the ages. \n\n\n\nA portion of this event’s proceeds will be donated to Missouri Abortion Fund. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nArkadin does not generally provide advisories about subject matter or potentially triggering content in films\, as sensitivities vary from person to person. SUMMARY:$3 MONDAY MYSTERY MOVIE: A Hilarious Rarely Screened Utterly Unique Cult Comedy
DESCRIPTION:BUY TICKETS\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOn the last Monday of every month\, Arkadin chooses an underseen deep cut to inflict upon an unwitting audience. SUMMARY:Ken Russell's GOTHIC (1989) w/ psychedelic horror pre-show
DESCRIPTION:BUY TICKETS\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n“[A] hallucinatory psychodrama of the creative process… [Ken] Russell’s exuberant style is perfectly suited to a libertine story which finds entirely visual means for showing the complex\, often grotesque workings of an author’s imagination. It is a reflexive orgy of future horrors.” – Projected Figures \n\n\n\nAs a storm rages outside\, Lord Byron and his guests conjure up their deepest fears by means of a séance in this wild imagining of the origins of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein. Directed by cult favorite Ken Russell (The Devils\, The Lair of the White Worm) and celebrating its 40th anniversary\, GOTHIC plunges us into an orgy of surrealistic horror. Starring Natasha Richardson as Mary Shelley (née Godwin)\, the late Julian Sands as the legendary poet Percy Bysshe Shelley\, and Timothy Spall as the reclusive Lord Byron\, GOTHIC is an explosive horror-drama in which the devilish\, omnisexual Byron leads his crew of aesthetes in a laudanum-assisted night of playful games and erotically charged rituals. The poets and artists are “beckoning the spark of creation” for a storytelling contest in a castle full of gothic props – cobwebs\, skulls\, suits of armor\, automata\, mirrors\, a mask\, a goat and a snake. Traumas are triggered\, nightmares come to life\, and visions of future doom dance in the night as a tripping\, terrified Mary will be galvanized into merging her past grief and present panic into one of the greatest horror stories ever told. \n\n\n\nCome out early for a Psychedelic Horror pre-show starting at 6:30 pm. SUMMARY:POOR THINGS (2023)
DESCRIPTION:BUY TICKETS\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n“An instant classic! Mordantly funny\, whimsical and wacky.” – IndieWire \n\n\n\nThe partnership between Emma Stone and Greek auteur Yorgos Lanthimos has been a true gift to film lovers with a taste for the offbeat and unhinged\, and perhaps no film exemplifies their ability to turn bizarre concepts into cracking entertainment better than POOR THINGS. An adaptation of Scottish writer Alasdair Gray’s landmark novel\, POOR THINGS twists the classic Frankenstein story into a tale of sexual liberation and feminist subversion. Stone plays Bella Baxter\, a young woman brought back to life by an eccentric scientist (Willem Dafoe)\, who implants her own unborn child’s brain into her body. As she grows up all over again\, Bella satiates a thirst for knowledge and experience that leads her to intellectual\, sexual\, and political escapades that span continents. Told with surreal whimsy worthy of Tim Burton\, POOR THINGS is a fever dream with an epic scope. \n\n\n\nWhy should Jessie Buckley have all the fun?
