Three Giant Men, aka TURKISH SPIDER-MAN (1973) — Now Free!

March 20 : 6:15 pm

“One of the most ridiculous films ever made…For some unknown reason, Spider-Man has taken up residency in Turkey and he’s gone bad…real bad.” –Film Threat

Totally unauthorized and wildly different from any Marvel movie you’ve ever seen, Three Giant Men, popularly known as TURKISH SPIDER-MAN, is a legendary bootleg film starring the famous web-slinger, Captain America, and Mexican wrestler Santo in an action-packed crime adventure. Spider-Man (sporting some bizarrely bushy eyebrows) is no friendly neighborhood anything, but rather a mob boss who murders wealthy women and steals their priceless artifacts. The only people who can stop him are Captain America and Santo. A wonderfully inappropriate riff on these world-famous characters, Three Giant Men was part of a ’70s wave of Turkish rip-off films that included Badi (an unauthorized remake of E.T.), Col (Turkish Jaws), and Dunyayi Kurtaran Adam (The Man Who Saved The World) (a blatant copy of Star Wars).
