$3 MYSTERY MOVIE: A True-Life Documentary as Hilarious and Absurd as Spinal Tap (but with a lot more danger!)
December 30 : 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm
On the last Monday of every month, Arkadin chooses an underseen deep cut to inflict upon an unwitting audience. Though the genre and tone may change, the price always remains the same: three measly bucks. You can’t afford not to get yourself a ticket!
We’re very excited for this month’s $3 Mystery Movie selection: a hysterical documentary that also happens to feature riveting edge-of-your-seat human drama. In the grand tradition of American Movie, Anvil! and King of Kong (but preceding them all), this is a real-life drama of big dreams and even bigger egos that consistently edges into unintentional hilarity due to the Spinal Tap-esque deadpan with which everyone in the film treats the delusional, life-threatening recklessness of our lovably deluded protagonist. We could give you a great imagine “[blank] meets [blank]” logline, but frankly it would give too much away. Just trust us with your three bucks, and feel your jaw drop further and further for two straight hours as you gape at a man foolishly devoted to accomplishing his utterly stupid dream!
