Bizarro body horror banger BABY BLOOD (1990) w/ “Bad Babies” pre-show @ 6:30 pm
October 9 : 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm
“Nasty, violent, and terrifying body horror… Baby Blood is liberating in its subversion.” – Hyperreal Film Club
We couldn’t say it any better than Hyperreal Film Club‘s Shayna Nowicki, who, in her incomparable appreciation of Alain Robak’s BABY BLOOD, described the joy of relating the film’s insane plot to her (presumably horrified) pregnant sister: “It’s about a girl who gets inseminated with an amphibious prehistoric demon that crawls up inside her while she’s asleep and then forces her to kill men and drink their blood for its nourishment. This could seem like a bummer, but luckily she gets really into murdering men and she and the fetus actually wind up vibing over the freedom that brings her and she’s just, like, feral and naked for most of the film. Oh, it’s also one of the goriest movies I’ve ever seen.” If that doesn’t make you wanna get down with this deliciously deranged—yet disarmingly thoughtful—pregnancy-horror banger, then you may be on the wrong cinema’s website. Also known as The Evil Within, BABY BLOOD is exactly the sort of beautiful batshittery we relish in inflicting on our audiences, so come join us for a splatterfest to remember!
And if that weren’t enough, we’re kicking off the night with a “Bad Babies” pre-show at 6:30 pm, featuring shorts, clips, and trailers of the most evil infants (and embryos) in horror history.
