CONCRETE JUNGLE GYM (2024) — a new documentary about Bob Cassilly and City Museum w/ filmmaker Q&A

April 19 : 8:00 pm 10:00 pm

$20 all proceeds benefit SK8 Liborius

“While the film’s subject may seem niche, its themes resonate widely, offering a heartfelt look at one man’s mission to reclaim beauty from decay, making it a compelling watch for anyone who values art’s power to reshape and uplift a community.” – ZekeFilm

Artist Bob Cassilly spent years saving and repurposing relics and treasures slated for demolition as cities across the Midwest practiced municipal disinvestment. The sculptor, who previously protected a Michelangelo masterpiece from destruction, transformed art, history, and junk into tunnels, slides and caverns inside of an abandoned ten-story warehouse where he recreated his own unique idea of a city.

Concrete Jungle Gym director Mike Gualdoni will be on hand for a Q&A, along with members of Bob Cassilly’s former crew who now work on SK8 Liborius, a historic abandoned church transformed into a skate park and community center that directly serves the youth in North St. Louis.

All ticket proceeds from this screening benefit SK8 Liborius!

Concrete Jungle Gym will be screening twice on April 19, once at 5 pm and again at 8 pm. Choose your showtime at checkout.
