EARTH GIRLS ARE EASY (1988)

March 7 : 7:00 pm 8:45 pm

“Campy, with over-the-top 80s style, and catchy, but ridiculous, musical numbers… EARTH GIRLS ARE EASY has slowly been climbing the ranks of  Cult Classics as it is rediscovered by old and new generations. If you ever need a shot of perky and fun energy, EARTH GIRLS is the perfect film to deliver it.” –Bitch Flicks

If you’re searching for an irresistibly fun cult classic with an out-of-this-world cast, you’ve found it! Mashing up sci-fi, musicals, and romantic comedy, EARTH GIRLS ARE EASY follows the misadventures of valley-girl manicurist Valerie (Geena Davis), whose life is upended when three furry aliens — played by Jeff Goldblum, Jim Carrey, and Damon Wayans — crash-land their spaceship into her pool. Directed by legendary art-punk Julien Temple and written and produced by cult pop star Julie Brown (“The Homecoming Queen’s Got a Gun”), EARTH GIRLS ARE EASY is a candy-coated satire of LA vapidity. With its bright colors, big hair, and bouncy tunes, the film serves up pure ’80s vibes.
