November 18 : 7:00 pm – 9:30 pm

The Fantasy Shop has been bringing the St. Louis Metro area the very best in comics, graphic novels, board games, role-playing games, card games, and all kinds of other wonderful geeky stuff since 1981.

“It’s vibrating with energy, you can sense the zeal and joy in its making.” – Roger Ebert

On November 18th, Fantasy Shop will be partnering with Arkadin Cinema to bring you Off Panel, an exploration of comic book film adaptations and their source material. Our first foray off the comic page is 2004’s Hellboy directed by Guillermo del Toro and adapted from Hellboy: Seed of Destruction by Hellboy creator Mike Mignola. Charismatic demon-turned-investigator Hellboy works with the secretive Bureau of Paranormal Research and Defense to suppress paranormal threats, when a resurrected sorcerer seeks to make Hellboy fulfill his destiny by triggering the apocalypse.

Arkadin does not generally provide advisories about subject matter or potentially triggering content in films, as sensitivities vary from person to person. However, we encourage researching titles to determine if a screening may contain content that could be upsetting to you. Please feel free to contact us for guidance on specific films. Information about content can also be found on Common Sense Media, IMDB and DoesTheDogDie.com, as well as through general internet searches.
