Hilarious buddy-cop parody HOT FUZZ (2007)

November 7 : 4:00 pm – 6:15 pm

“Hot Fuzz is everything an action-comedy should be. It achieves through parody what most films in the genre can’t accomplish straight.” – Nathan Rabin, The AV Club

Nicholas Angel (Simon Pegg), the finest cop in London, is so good that he makes everyone else look bad. So Angel’s superiors send him to the sleepy village of Sandford, where he is partnered with Danny Butterman (Nick Frost), a bumbling cop but a huge action movie fan. But when Angel discovers that the seemingly sleepy Sandford is not what it seems, it’s time for these small-town cops to break out some big-city justice. The second entry in Edgar Wright’s beloved “Cornetto Trilogy” (sandwiched between the equally hilarious Shaun of the Dead and The World’s End), Hot Fuzz takes the director’s signature blend of sharp comedy, genre parody, and sneaky feeling and turns it into a gloriously over-the-top action film. Packed with rapid-fire jokes and explosive set pieces that lovingly recreate the feel of 80s and 90s action movies, Hot Fuzz is to the buddy-cop genre what Shaun of the Dead was to the zombie film: loving tribute and hilarious send-up.
