This film is presented by St. Louis’s long-running cult film series Strange Brew and will feature a pre-film intro by Strange Brew programmer Jon Scorfina.

What are the ingredients for the perfect ’80s Rom-Com? First cast Jeff Goldblum as your romantic lead, a charismatic medium that can “vibe” the history of an object just by touching it. Next add Cyndi Lauper at the peak of her music career in her debut leading role playing a punchy, psychic pixie on-the-run. Then have their meet-cute result in them both jet-setting from New York City to Ecuador on a quest to unlock the source of all psychic energy. This wonderful weirdness became the lost gem Vibes.

A notorious box office bomb during its initial release in 1988, Vibes quickly fell into cinematic obscurity. Now however, this quirky flick is dying to be rediscovered by modern audiences looking to find the perfect paranormal romance movie from the ’80s. Originally pitched as “Romancing the Ghostbusters in the Temple of Doom,” Vibes greatest asset is a completely underrated performance by Cyndi Lauper that has been unfairly maligned for decades.  

Vibes is perfect for an early Valentine’s Day date or for any ’80s movie fan dying to find an incredibly fun forgotten treasure. 

Come early for a Cyndi Lauper pre-show from 6 pm to 7 pm before the film. 

THEATER POLICIES

All seats are first-come, first-served.

The theater opens 30 minutes prior to showtime, except for “Happy Hour” events and pre-shows when the theater opens at the listed start time.

All ages are welcome at Arkadin except for Drinkolas Cage events, which are restricted to 21+. We follow the MPAA rating guidelines for all other films.

Tickets can be purchased using the BUY TICKETS link above. Upon ordering, you will receive a confirmation email from Square. Tickets may also be purchased on the day of the show at the concession counter.

If you’ve purchased advance tickets, when you arrive, please give your name at the concession counter to check in.

Tickets are returnable by sending a request through the contact form located on our About Us page prior to showtime.

When an event is sold out, we reserve the right to release open seats to customers on the waitlist. If you have a pre-purchased ticket and arrive late and there is no seat for you, your ticket will be refunded.

All screenings are held in our indoor theater unless indicated otherwise in the event description above.
