JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR (1973)

April 18 : 7:00 pm 9:00 pm

“Over the top, silly, ludicrous, and ultimately rather powerful” – Through the Shattered Lens

This Good Friday, Arkadin gets religion…Broadway style! We tip our cap to the Christian God the only way we know how, with a bold, boisterous rock opera extravaganza by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber. JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR tells the story of Christ’s (Ted Neeley) final weeks entirely through a series of dazzling songs, images and music, focused on Christ’s conflicts with Judas Iscariot (Carl Anderson). Filmed on location in the Middle East, producer-director Norman Jewison’s (Fiddler on the Roof) lavish production is a feast for the eyes and ears and the perfect way to kick off your Easter weekend.
