“This 1982 live action puppet film…will haunt the very essence of your being.” -Esquire
Jim Henson was a visionary artist, puppeteer, and filmmaker who created some of the most beloved characters and stories of all time. Among his many achievements, he co-directed and co-produced THE DARK CRYSTAL, a 1982 dark fantasy film that was unlike anything he had done before. The result was a stunning visual feast that transports you to the world of Thra, where the evil Skeksis have corrupted the mystical Crystal of Truth and enslaved the gentle Gelflings. Only Jen, a young Gelfling orphan, can fulfill the ancient prophecy and restore balance to Thra by finding the missing shard of the crystal. Join us for a magical journey of courage, friendship, and wonder, as Jen and his allies face the dark forces of the Skeksis and their terrifying creatures. THE DARK CRYSTAL was a passion project for Henson, who wanted to explore the possibilities of puppetry beyond comedy and children’s entertainment. The film is an enduring masterpiece of storytelling and puppetry that will enchant and inspire viewers of all ages.
Tickets are $9 for adults and $7 for kids under 12.
