“One of the most powerful films of 1968 and one of the greatest directorial debuts of all time.” – Quentin Tarantino

When an aging classic horror star agrees to a public swan song at his final film premiere, he unwittingly crosses paths with a damaged young man hellbent on revenge. By the time the smoke clears, both of their lives will have been changed forever. Occupying a singular place in horror history, Peter Bogdanovich’s Targets sketched out the genre’s future while paying respects to its past. Featuring Boris Karloff in his last American role, this subversive classic served as the nexus point between the gothic horrors of yore and the prosaic horrors of now, proving unexpectedly prescient by rooting itself in the everyday violence of the ‘60s. Criminally underseen to this day, Targets has only sharpened its edge as time has proven its mettle.
