THE MASQUE OF THE RED DEATH (1964) starring Vincent Price — $5
October 21, 2021 : 8:00 pm
“An expressionist horror-ballet…The Masque of the Red Death moves with a sinuous, unselfconscious elegance.” –The Guardian
Death and debauchery reign in the castle of Prince Prospero (Vincent Price), and when it reigns, it pours! During a devastating 12th-century plague called “The Red Death,” the decadent, devil-worshipping Prospero holds court over a bizarre masked ball. Already established as a sadistic torturer, Prospero insists that his “guests” indulge in numerous depraved games, most of them ending with someone’s death. Based on Edgar Allan Poe’s classic short story of the same name, this visually stunning horror extravaganza from Roger Corman features a lead performance of sinister elegance from St. Louis-born horror titan Vincent Price.
