VINCENTPALOOZA! Vincent Price’s 115th birthday bash — THE TINGLER (1959) + THE LAST MAN ON EARTH (1964) w/ Victoria Price and drag show hosted by Vincent Priceless

June 6 : 7:00 pm 11:00 pm

It’s a Vincent Price bash at Arkadin featuring not one, but TWO Vincent Price classics, film intros by Vincent’s daughter/biographer Victoria Price, horror drag show hosted by Vincent Priceless, and trivia with prizes!

Join us on for a double feature of creepalicious Vincent Price-y goodness with William Castle’s legendary gimmick-horror delight THE TINGLER and one of Price’s most gripping performances as THE LAST MAN ON EARTH! Both films will be introduced by the man of the hour’s daughter, Victoria Price, author of Vincent Price: A Daughter’s Biography. Victoria will share some stories about her father and answer a few audience questions.

But that’s not all! Before the films, enjoy a horror drag show hosted by the one and only Vincent Priceless! Plus, a few trivia questions with prizes!

Is all that still not enough for you? Not to worry! Victoria will also be hosting a happy hour up the street at Tim’s Chrome Bar from 5-6:30 pm with birthday cake and a toast to St. Louis’ greatest son! Attendance at the happy hour costs $20 and includes cake.
Happy Hour tickets available here.

THE TINGLER (1959)
Price stars as a scientist who makes a remarkable discovery: within every human resides a creature, attached to the spine, that tingles in cases of fear. He manages to extract a Tingler from a recently murdered housewife, but the creature escapes… The second of two collaborations with gimmick merchant William Castle, The Tingler was originally presented in “Percepto,” in which buzzers were attached to the audience’s seats and real-life “tinglers” were unleashed on the audience. In Percepto or not, The Tingler remains an outlandish, inventive B-movie classic. And remember: a scream at the right time may save your life.

THE LAST MAN ON EARTH (1964)
Price delivers one of his most masterful performances in this post-apocalyptic sci-fi chiller, the first (and best!) adaptation of Richard Matheson’s classic novel (later remade as The Omega Man with Charlton Heston and I Am Legend with Will Smith). A plague envelops the earth, decimating the world’s population and turning the rest into bloodsucking vampires! Only one man maintains his humanity, scientist Robert Morgan (Price), who exhibits a strange immunity to the deadly disease. A major influence on Night of the Living Dead, The Last Man on Earth is a gripping showcase for Price’s estimable acting chops. For most of the film, he’s the only one on screen, but who’s complaining!
