Deranged Stephen King-directed killer semi truck disasterpiece MAXIMUM OVERDRIVE (1986) — Fundraiser for the Heavy Anchor

October 16 : 9:15 pm 10:45 pm

Join us for a night of VEHICULAR MAYHEM to raise funds for our next-door neighbors, The Heavy Anchor, which was recently smashed by an SUV, and to raise consciousness about the dangers of Gravois. All ticket proceeds benefit The Heavy Anchor’s resurrection.

Representatives from the St. Louis Coalition to Protect Cyclists and Pedestrians will be on hand to help us imagine a safer St. Louis.

We extend a very special thanks to Rialto Pictures for donating the film license!

Maximum Overdrive is the only film Stephen King ever directed, and after seeing it, you’ll understand why. This coke‑fueled carnival of killer cacophony throws you into a loud, sweaty, gloriously stupid apocalypse where trucks, lawnmowers, and vending machines revolt because of…umm…space radiation. Emilio Estevez leads a band of survivors trapped in a truck stop by a convoy of homicidal big rigs. Overacted, overdirected, and over‑the‑to, Maximum Overdrive is chaotic, ridiculous, and totally irresistible for lovers of gonzo horror and so‑bad‑it’s‑great nonsense.

Need more killer automobiles in your life? Want to help The Heavy Anchor even more? Then grab a ticket to the first half of our VEHICULAR MAYHEM double feature, Christine!
