John Waters’ CRY-BABY (1990) w/ rockabilly pre-show

June 26 : 7:00 pm 9:00 pm

“It’s sleazy! It’s trashy! It’s surprisingly charming!” – The Hungry Creatures

Eisenhower is President. Rock ‘n’ roll is king. And Wade “Cry-Baby” Walker is the baddest hood in his high school. Johnny Depp heads up a supercool cast as the irresistible bad boy whose amazing ability to shed one single tear drives all the girls wild—especially Allison Vernon Williams (Amy Locane), a rich, beautiful “square” who finds herself uncontrollably drawn to the dreamy juvenile delinquent and his forbidden world of rockabilly music, fast cars and faster women. One of John Waters’ most beloved cult favorites—the film somewhat ironically developed a rabid teen girl fandom that mirrored the one in the film—CRY-BABY is an outrageous comedy that pays loving tribute to early rock ‘n’ roll. (Need some more ironically rockin’ comedy in your life? Check out The Girl Can’t Help It on June 14, one of Waters’ all-time favorite films!)

Come out early for a Rockabilly Pre-Show, starting at 6 pm!
